Partindo da imagem-referência das áreas úmidas como territórios de transição, a série Vãos investiga os intervalos e limiares presentes nas casas onde vivi — em Santos e em Belo Horizonte. Os vãos são compreendidos como fronteiras entre zonas distintas, espaços que não pertencem inteiramente a um lado ou a outro.
As pinturas capturam esses pontos de transição: telhados que se abrem para o céu, janelas entreabertas, frestas entre telhas, sobreposições arquitetônicas que geram encontros entre dentro e fora. Cada quadro é um exercício de observar o instante em que o cotidiano se descola da realidade e flerta com o onírico.
Vãos propõe uma leitura sensível dos espaços domésticos, enfatizando suas zonas de passagem, aquelas que não se prestam a uma função específica, mas que abrem caminho para a imaginação e o deslocamento.

Starting from the image-reference of wetlands as transitional territories, the series Thresholds explores the thresholds and in-between spaces within the homes where I have lived — in Santos and Belo Horizonte. These vãos (gaps) are understood as borders between distinct zones, spaces that belong fully to neither side.
The paintings capture these moments of transition: rooftops opening to the sky, half-open windows, gaps between tiles, and architectural overlays that create encounters between interior and exterior. Each canvas is an exercise in observing the moment when the everyday detaches from reality and approaches the dreamlike.
Vãos offers a sensitive reading of domestic spaces, highlighting their passage zones, those that serve no fixed function but instead open paths for imagination and displacement.
