Livro digital – poesia, arquivo e ficção portuária

Navios Imaginados parte de uma investigação poética sobre arquivos marítimos e linguagens de circulação. A partir de uma extensa pesquisa em jornais antigos da cidade de Santos, o livro coleta fragmentos de anúncios de companhias de navegação que operaram entre o início do século XX e os anos 1980. Termos técnicos como “porto não anunciado”, “partida semanal”, “escala provisória”, “vapores esperados” são extraídos, reorganizados e recombinados, não como material documental, mas como vocabulário em estado de deriva.

O léxico encontrado nos jornais é tratado como um baralho náutico: um conjunto de palavras dispostas para recombinação a cada poema. Essa prática se aproxima da lógica dos estudos pictóricos, em que o artista retorna ao mesmo motivo para observar o que muda sob nova luz. Em vez de buscar o inédito, o livro insiste na repetição como método, os poemas retornam ao mesmo campo verbal (o porto, o navio, a travessia), mas sempre sob outro ritmo, outra maré, outro arranjo. O tempo, aqui, não é linha: é ondulação.

Além dos poemas, o livro inclui um índice final com diversas companhias marítimas,  todas fictícias, mas apresentadas como se fizessem parte de um arquivo. Algumas soam verossímeis, outras, abertamente improváveis, e todas operam num espaço entre a memória e a invenção. Essa seção funciona como um inventário fictício, em que memória, burocracia e fabulação se misturam. O projeto assume o arquivo como gesto criativo, onde a linguagem se desloca do técnico ao poético, do histórico ao imaginado.

A book of poems, archives, and maritime fragments

Navios Imaginados stems from a poetic investigation into maritime archives and languages of circulation. Based on extensive research in historical newspapers from the city of Santos, the book collects fragments of advertisements from shipping companies that operated between the early 20th century and the 1980s. Technical terms such as “unannounced port”, “weekly departure”, “provisional stopover”, and “expected steamers” are extracted, rearranged, and recombined,  not as documentary material, but as a drifting vocabulary.

The lexicon found in the newspapers is treated like a nautical deck: a set of words laid out for recombination in each poem. This practice echoes the logic of pictorial studies, where an artist returns to the same motif to observe what changes under a new light. Rather than seeking the new, the book insists on repetition as method, the poems revisit the same verbal field (the port, the ship, the crossing), but always under a different rhythm, another tide, a new configuration. Time, here, is not linear: it is a wave.

In addition to the poems, the book includes a final index of various maritime companies, all fictional, yet presented as if they were part of a real archive. Some sound plausible, others are openly improbable. All operate in a space between memory and invention. This section works as a fictional inventory, where memory, bureaucracy, and fabulation intertwine. The project embraces the archive as a creative gesture, where language shifts from the technical to the poetic, from the historical to the imagined.
